Even how much we try to forget the pain of losing him, we still can’t totally over it..or at least just yet. We still can’t forget the pain we felt early morning on December 31st last year – the day father bid farewell for good. Even with the assurance we heard that our father left the easiest, painless way, I knew it was hard for him to leave us too. But although he is no longer with us, he is still in our minds and in our hearts. We still remember vividly his being a very cool father to us. My sisters and I are the closest to our father. They are not very close with our brother for some reason and being thirsty for the love of a son, we, the daughters are hoping to fill that emptiness in our father’s heart and I knew we didn’t fail. We are our father’s angels and best friends.
With father on my 25th birthday. He was so lively then, we didn’t know he is already sick inside. He didn’t show us his pain so we won’t worry for him.
Father and my youngest sister Cheep at our favorite restaurant in Dipolog City, CLS Food Plaza. This was the last happiest meal we had with father. He was sickly already in the photo but he insisted on having some rum, as you can see in the picture.
Father and my younger sister Cheep at home in Manukan. Mother and him were on the verge of separation during this picture. He may be a bad husband but he is a good father to us his children. He is the sweetest person we’ve ever known. Never did we receive a serious beating from him, instead, he would block mom’s beating to protect us.
Father celebrating his last birthday with us – August 2012. This photo is our last remembrance of him. He is loved and missed for always.
